Accessory guide
Screwdriver Bits, Nutsetters and Sockets
For a screw with an internal recess, choose the exact bit type and size. For an exposed hex head or nut, choose a nutsetter or socket by key width, then by the tool connection. Finally check impact suitability and access.
[14] [9] [10] [6] [11]This guide covers Bosch accessory choices for Bosch tools. Confirm the exact tool and accessory requirements before buying.

Start with what you need to turn
A screw with a recess
Choose a screwdriver bit for the shaped recess inside the screw head. Slotted, Phillips, Pozidriv, Torx and hex-socket screws need their corresponding bit type. A hex-socket screw has the driving recess inside its head; a nutsetter is for a head or nut gripped around the outside.
[14] [6] [7] [8] [9]An exposed hex head or nut
Choose a nutsetter or socket with the required key width: the size across the fastener’s opposite flat sides. Then choose the connection for your tool. Bosch’s PRO Impact Nutsetter uses a hex shank; its PRO Impact Socket Set is for square-drive impact wrenches. The fastener size and the tool connection are separate choices.
[9] [10]Match both parts of the bit code
PH means Phillips
PH2 identifies a Phillips bit in size 2. PZ means Pozidriv, so PZ2 is a different type even though it also carries the number 2. Match the letters and the size in the screw or assembly specification.
[6] [7] [13]T means Torx
Bosch labels its Torx bits with T codes, including T20 and T25. Keep the whole code when choosing a replacement; the number selects the size within that type.
[8]Example A Furniture fittings marked PZ2
Choose a PZ2 bit, then check the connection and permitted screwdriving setup for your Bosch tool. A PH2 bit is a different profile. The fitting’s PZ2 requirement decides the tip; the fact that you are fastening into wood does not change that requirement.
[7] [6] [13] [14]Choose the connection and impact rating for your tool
Check the bit to tool connection
The shank is the end held by the tool or holder; a drill’s chuck is its clamp. Some setups hold the bit directly and others use a separate bit holder. If you need a holder, compare the bit-side opening with the bit shank, and the holder’s tool-side shank with your Bosch tool’s requirements. Bosch lists a holder’s shank and drive end separately.
[14] [12] [15]Using an impact driver
Choose a bit or nutsetter expressly listed for impact-driver use. Any holder or adapter in the setup must also be suitable for that tool and duty. Bosch explicitly lists its PRO Impact PH bits, nutsetter and bit holder for impact drivers; check the exact accessory rather than relying on its magnetic tip or hex shape.
[6] [9] [11] [12]Using a square-drive impact wrench
Start with an impact socket in the correct drive size, then select its key width for the fastener. For example, Bosch’s PRO Impact Socket Set lists the square-drive size separately from the metric key widths. A socket that matches the nut still needs the right connection to the wrench.
[10]Example B A bracket with a 10 mm hex head
If the assembly permits powered fastening, choose a 10 mm nutsetter with the connection and duty required by your Bosch driver that accepts hex-shank accessories. For a square-drive Bosch impact wrench, choose a 10 mm impact socket with the wrench’s drive size. Both engage the outside of the head; the tool connection decides the format.
[9] [10]Choose a length that lets you approach straight
Keep the tip code when access changes
For a recessed screw, compare bit length and the space occupied by any holder while keeping the required tip type and size. Bosch lists PH2 versions in 55 mm and 90 mm lengths. Those are length choices for the same PH2 tip.
[6]Example C Reaching a recessed PH2 screw
If a shorter setup brings the holder against the surrounding surface before the tip can sit straight in the screw, compare a longer PH2 bit. Check the complete fitted setup and available space before buying. The catalogue length alone does not guarantee usable reach, and tilting the bit to compensate can make it slip.
[6] [12] [14]Buy the sizes your jobs actually use
One repeated screw or several different jobs
For repeated work with one known screw code, look for that exact bit or a pack of it. For jobs calling for several codes, compare a set’s contents against your list. Bosch’s PRO Impact sets contain named PH, PZ and T sizes; a larger piece count does not by itself give you the missing size or the reach you need.
[6] [13]Before you buy
1 Fastener
Write down the full recess code, such as PZ2 or T20, or the hex head’s key width. This determines the working end.
[6] [7] [8] [9] [10]2 Tool and connection
Check your exact Bosch tool, the accessory shank or socket drive, and both ends of any holder or adapter. Match each connection, not just the fastener size.
[12] [10]3 Duty and access
For impact use, check every accessory in the setup for the stated impact duty. Compare length and clearance so the correct tip can engage straight.
[6] [11] [9] [10] [14]4 What is included
Read the exact set or pack contents: required codes, duplicates, and whether a holder or other connector is supplied. Buy for the missing pieces you need, rather than the headline count.
[13] [12]Pro tips & practical checks
Do
Seat the correct bit straight
Use a tip that matches the screw and keep it aligned with the recess. If it starts slipping, stop and recheck before continuing.
[14] [15]Use the fastening instructions
Follow the exact tool and assembly instructions for torque or depth control. Torque means turning force; a depth stop controls how far the screw is driven. Neither setting can be chosen from the bit code alone.
[14]Do not
Substitute a similar looking tip
Do not replace PZ2 with PH2 just because both look like cross-head bits. Return to the specified type and size.
[6] [7] [13] [15]Treat a magnet or hex shank as an impact rating
Magnetism describes holding assistance, and the shank describes the connection. Look for an explicit impact-use statement on the exact bit, nutsetter, socket and any connector you intend to use.
[12] [11] [6] [9] [10]Common questions
Why does the bit keep slipping out of the screw?
Recheck size and alignment first. Bosch identifies a wrong-size bit, angled contact and tilting among the causes. Slipping can injure the user and damage the screw, bit or workpiece. If the correct tip still cannot engage properly, stop and resolve the cause.
[14]Can an impact bit also be used with a rotary drill or driver?
The cited Bosch PRO Impact PH bits and PRO Impact Bit Holder are listed for both impact drivers and rotary drills/drivers. For those products, check the connection required by your exact Bosch tool. Do not assume that another accessory has the same machine suitability just because its name is similar.
[6] [11]Why can two eight piece sets cover different jobs?
Some pieces may be duplicates. Bosch’s two PRO Impact eight-piece options illustrate this: one repeats PH2 and PZ2, while the other includes PH1, PZ1 and T15. Compare the full code list with your jobs; identical counts do not mean identical coverage.
