Accessory guide
Multitool Accessories
Decide whether you need a cut, residue removal or a finished surface. An oscillating saw blade, scraper and sanding plate may share a mounting family while doing very different work.
[5] [7] [10]This guide covers Bosch accessories for Bosch tools. Check the instructions for the exact tool and accessory before buying or using them.

1. Choose the operation, then the material
Sawing: a blade for the actual cut
For a softwood cutout, compare a blade designed for softwood plunge cuts, such as AIZ 32 EPC. AIZ 20 AB instead lists wood and non-hardened metal and has a narrow blade for fine work. A wood-only description is not permission to cut hidden metal, and non-hardened metal does not mean every metal. Check the material, cut shape and working depth together rather than buying any blade labelled multitool.
[5] [6]Sanding: sheet and pad, or a coated rasping plate
For sanding hardwood or removing old paint or lacquer, Bosch’s PRO F460 is a sheet used with a suitable backing pad. Its hook-and-loop backing grips the pad; the sheet is not mounted directly like a saw blade. For mortar or tile adhesive, AVZ 90 RT2 is a carbide-coated plate with a delta shape for corners. That aggressive abrasive plate answers a different surface-removal job from selecting a finishing sheet for wood.
[10] [9]Polishing: select the finishing attachment
The GOP 30-28 manual lists polishing felt on its AVZ 93 G plate for pre-polishing. Choose the appropriate finishing attachment and instructions instead of treating a sanding sheet as a polishing pad.
[12] [10]Cutting and scraping: rigid or flexible scraper
Start with the residue. Bosch’s ATZ 52 SC is a rigid scraper for hard, solid or brittle residues. ATZ 52 SFC has a flexible body for soft residues. These examples share a 52 mm width, yet answer different removal jobs. Width alone would not tell you which one to choose. Use the exact cutter or scraper’s stated application; the category name does not make a saw blade a residue-removal scraper.
[7] [8] [4] [5]2. See how the accessory choice changes
Example: an opening in softwood versus a narrow metal cut
For a softwood opening, start with the softwood blade’s plunge-cut application. For a fine cut in identified non-hardened metal, compare the AIZ 20 AB material description and narrow cutting width instead. Do not carry the first blade choice into the second job merely because the same multitool can hold both mounting formats.
[5] [6]Example: hard residue versus soft residue
If the residue is solid and brittle, compare the rigid ATZ 52 SC. If it is soft and calls for a flexible scraper, compare ATZ 52 SFC. If the task is abrasive removal of mortar or tile adhesive rather than scraping, the coated AVZ 90 RT2 plate is another distinct route. Choose the removal action before the width.
[7] [8] [9]3. Five checks before buying
1 Result and material
Record what should happen to the surface: cut through it, lift residue, abrade it or pre-polish it. Check the exact material list; wood, hardened metal and old coating residue are not interchangeable applications.
[5] [7] [10] [12] [6] [8]2 Exact tool interface
GOP 30-28 accepts Starlock and StarlockPlus, not StarlockMax. Material and operating limits still apply. The mounting-family name describes the connection, not every job the accessory can do.
[12] [5] [7]3 Width and working depth
Width is the cutting edge across the blade; immersion depth is the stated depth into the material. AIZ 20 AB lists 20 mm width and 30 mm immersion depth. Compare each with the required cut; they are not two names for blade length.
[6]4 Sheet, backing plate and grade
For F460, match the pad shape and attachment as well as the grade. The GOP 30-28 manual’s wood example uses coarse 40/60 for rough pre-sanding and fine 180/240 for finishing. These numbers illustrate coarse versus fine, not a compulsory starting grade or sequence. Do not compare a carbide-coated RIFF plate’s grit with a wood-finishing sheet as if they were the same material-removal choice.
[10] [12] [9]5 Permitted speed setting
For GOP 30-28, level 4 is the maximum for sanding/RIFF accessories and for sawing plastic or metal; observe accessory markings too. These are model-specific limits, not universal working settings.
[12]Pro tips & practical checks
Do: keep these GOP 30-28 checks together
Fit securely and support the work
Follow its bolted fitting instructions and check seating. Clamp the work, use both insulated grips and keep hands clear of the cut.
[12]Control dust before working
For all GOP 30-28 work, take dust-reducing measures, ventilate and use suitable breathing protection; use material-appropriate extraction where possible. For sanding, always connect extraction, sand dry and align sheet/pad holes. At the tool connection, the extractor must provide at least 230 mbar vacuum and 36 l/s airflow; Class M filtration is recommended. Empty the dust container before breaks: sanding dust can ignite.
[12]Keep plunge cutting within its limits
Plunge-cut only soft materials; check for hidden services and foreign objects. Use undamaged blades and wait for complete stop before setting down.
[12]Don’t: trade surface control for speed
Dampen a surface or use solvents before scraping
For GOP 30-28, never scrape damp surfaces/materials or apply solvent-containing fluids: electric-shock and poisonous-vapour risks apply.
[12]Dig a scraper into a soft base
With GOP 30-28 on wood, use a flat angle and low pressure to avoid cutting the underlying surface.
[12]Assume every Starlock tool changes blades the same way
The accessory connection and the tool’s release mechanism are separate checks. Use the fitting instructions for your exact model, even when a product page advertises a quick-change system.
[12] [7]Common questions
Why do two 52 mm scrapers need different descriptions?
Is a sanding sheet the same purchase as a sanding plate?
