Bosch GLL 3-80 vs GLL 90-33 XG vs GLL 100-33 CG vs GLL 18V-120-33 CG

Choose around your power setup, line colour and need for remote control. The GLL 3-80 is the red-line, AA-powered option. The GLL 90-33 XG provides green lines with compatible 12V or AA power. The GLL 100-33 CG adds app-based line control, while the GLL 18V-120-33 CG works with specified Bosch Professional 18V batteries and offers other power options through its designated adapters.

All four project three 360° planes: one horizontal and two vertical. These give alignment references around a room. A receiver detects the beam when it is difficult to see; its detection range is a separate specification from visible-line range.

[1] [2] [3]

Compatible power options do not establish what is included with the product. Match the exact battery, charger and adapter to the model’s instructions before ordering. The IP ratings do not permit immersion or remove precautions against moisture, direct sunlight, extreme temperatures and substantial knocks.

GLL 3-80 questions

When should I choose the GLL 3-80?

Consider it if you want three red 360° planes and straightforward AA power for alignment work. Its manual specifies four 1.5 V LR6 AA cells, with alkaline-manganese recommended; do not substitute a 12V or 18V tool battery pack.

[1]

How does its receiver mode work?

The manual names LR 6 and LR 7 receivers and requires receiver mode to be enabled. That mode makes the lines less visible to the eye. Check the usable detection range for the exact laser/receiver pairing and job conditions before buying; a receiver-distance figure is not a promise that you can see the line that far.

[1]

What comes with the GLL 3-80?

Bosch’s India reference order 0601063S00 lists four AA cells, a pouch, carrying case and target plate. Confirm the actual included-items list for the Etool option you select, including whether a receiver or tripod must be bought separately.

[4], [5]

GLL 90-33 XG questions

Which power sources can I use?

The manual specifies Bosch GBA 10.8V or GBA 12V rechargeable batteries, recommending 2–3 Ah, or four 1.5 V LR6 AA alkaline cells through the designated battery adapter. It lists GAL 12… and GAX 18… charger families. Check the exact charger and local supply requirements; battery compatibility does not mean a battery or charger is supplied.

[2]

Is the battery protected by its IP65 rating?

The GLL 90-33 XG’s IP65 rating excludes the lithium-ion battery pack and battery adapter. Keep the tool and power components within the full manual’s handling and environmental limits, and do not immerse them.

[2]

What should I check in the kit?

Confirm the battery adapter, batteries, charger, mount, clip, case and pouch for the exact option you choose. Bosch’s India product page and catalogue list different contents for order 06010655K0, so do not assume every pictured accessory is included.

[6] [5]

GLL 100-33 CG questions

What does the app add?

Its manual documents laser-line control through the Bosch Levelling Remote App. Check your phone, app compatibility, Bluetooth reception and local wireless restrictions. Remote control does not improve the levelling-accuracy specification.

[2]

Can it use AA cells as well as a 12V battery?

Yes, with the designated adapter. The manual specifies GBA 10.8V or GBA 12V batteries, recommending 2–3 Ah, or four LR6 AA alkaline cells. Follow its exact charger guidance. Its IP65 rating excludes the Li-ion pack and battery adapter.

[2]

Does the GLL 100-33 CG come with a battery and charger?

Check the product option before buying. The India reference order 06010654K0 does not establish a supplied battery or charger. The catalogue lists an AA1 adapter, L-BOXX 136, pouch and certificate; confirm the actual contents, including any mount, receiver or tripod you need.

[7], [5]

GLL 18V-120-33 CG questions

Which batteries and adapters does it use?

The manual recommends GBA 18V or ProCORE18V batteries in the 1.5–4 Ah range. GBA 10.8V or GBA 12V batteries, recommended 2–3 Ah, require the BA 18-12 adapter. Four 1.5 V LR14 C alkaline cells require the BA 18-C adapter. Use the charger specified for the chosen battery. Do not substitute AA or AAA cells for the C-cell option.

[3]

Are the batteries included?

Do not assume so. Bosch’s India reference order 06010651K0 is described as a bare tool with L-BOXX 136, DK20 clip, target plate and BA 18-12 adapter. Check the actual Etool contents; batteries, charger, BA 18-C adapter and receiver are not established as included.

[8] [5]

Does it support remote control and IP65 protection?

The manual documents Levelling Remote App line control, subject to compatible devices, reception and wireless restrictions. Its IP65 rating excludes batteries, non-rechargeable cells and their adapters. Follow the manual’s environmental precautions and do not immerse the tool.

[3]

Range, receivers and accessories

Visible range, visible range in receiver mode and receiver-detection range describe different things. Bright sunlight and other site conditions can reduce performance. Check the required distance, whether a quoted figure is radius or diameter, and the exact receiver pairing before choosing. Do not choose from the model number or beam colour alone.

[1] [2] [3]

The GLL 3-80 manual names LR 6 or LR 7; the other three models’ manuals name LR 7. Confirm the actual receiver article and its usable range with the chosen laser. A receiver is not established as included in the reference packs. Likewise, a matching thread size alone does not establish that every tripod or holder is suitable.

[1] [4] [2] [6] [7] [3] [8] [5]

Use and care for all four models

Read the exact manual and keep the warning label legible. Never aim at people or animals, or stare into a direct or reflected beam. If a beam reaches your eyes, close them and turn away. Laser-viewing glasses help show the line; they do not protect against laser radiation and must not be used for driving. Do not modify the laser.

[1], [2], [3]

Use a stable surface or correctly attached support. Wait for levelling and recheck the original reference after movement. Lines in incline or pendulum-lock operation are not level or perpendicular references. On the GLL 90-33 XG and GLL 100-33 CG, the manual describes a transition to incline operation outside the self-levelling range; do not keep using those lines as level references.

[1] [2] [3]

Follow the model-specific horizontal and vertical accuracy checks before work and after major knocks or significant temperature changes. Checking a tool is not a calibration certificate. Switch off for transport to lock the pendulum.

[1], [2], [3]

Keep optical outlets clean using the manual’s cleaning method and never immerse the tool. Observe battery polarity and charger instructions, replace non-rechargeable cells together and remove them for long storage. Keep magnetic tools and accessories away from implants and magnetically sensitive devices as directed.

[1], [2], [3]

For the GLL 100-33 CG and GLL 18V-120-33 CG, observe the manual’s Bluetooth precautions and local wireless restrictions. Use the full model instructions for setup, operation and maintenance.

[2], [3]

Which should you choose?

For AA-powered red lines, start with GLL 3-80. For green lines and compatible 12V or AA options, compare GLL 90-33 XG and GLL 100-33 CG; the latter adds documented app line control. Consider GLL 18V-120-33 CG if its specified 18V battery support or adapter options fit your setup. Confirm the kit and receiver pairing before comparing complete prices.
